ABC Hansen Africa

Who is ABC Hansen Africa?

A proudly South African company, ABC Hansen Africa is owned by the second generation of a local family and has a partnership with ABC Hansen A/S in Denmark.

The Hippo Pygmy Hammer Mill and Silage Chopper is the smallest mill in the milling range. Selling for R11,220.00 – R13,317.00, this mill is ideal for small holders and start-up businesses who are looking for an affordable and versatile milling solution. The mill can run as a hammer mill and can be set up with an infeed hopper at the top, and the milled product dropping out the side of the machine through a milling screen.

The Hippo Pygmy Hammer Mill and Silage Chopper has the added advantage of also being able to run as a silage chopper. The mill is fitted with a blanked out screen and an outlet chute, then the silage is fed in through the side inlet, where it is chopped by two blades fitted onto the rotor. The blades and the hammer mill tips are replaceable when they get worn.

The ABC Hansen Africa Hippo Pygmy is available in two drive options:

1) Single phase (220V) 2.2KW, 2800 RPM  direct drive and

2) 4HP Briggs & Stratton, 3000RPM Petrol motor drive.

The Hippo Pygmy Hammer Mill and Silage Chopper has been designed with durability in mind. This mill is constructed with a simple and straightforward operation, making it easy to use and maintain. With its affordable price, this mill is the perfect choice for small businesses and budget-conscious consumers.
